Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about percussion therapy, recovery and what the specifications mean.
Which massage gun should I start with?
A mini gun covers arms, calves, shoulders and travels well, and it is quiet enough to use in a shared room. Move up to a full-size unit with higher stall force if you need to work quads, glutes or a broad back without the head stalling against the muscle.
What is stall force and why does it matter more than speed?
Stall force is how much pressure the head takes before the motor stops. A unit with 30 speeds and low stall force will stop dead the moment you lean on a large muscle. Speed changes the feel; stall force decides whether the tool works at all on big muscle groups.
Heat and cold — useful or a gimmick?
Both are useful in different places. Heat before a session helps tissue move. Cold after helps with acute soreness. A unit that does both saves owning two, and where a product offers them the listing says so plainly.
How long should I use a percussion gun on one area?
Follow the manufacturer instruction. As a general guide, one to two minutes per muscle group is plenty, and moving continuously beats holding the head in one spot.
Can I use one on my neck?
Use the softest head and the lowest speed, keep to the muscle at the back of the neck, and stay off the front and sides entirely. If you have an injury or a circulatory condition, speak to a clinician before using percussion products at all.
Are these FSA or HSA eligible?
Some manufacturers state that they are, and where they do we repeat that claim. Eligibility is determined by your plan administrator rather than by this store, so confirm with them before purchasing on that basis.
How fast do orders ship?
Handling time, transit time and the daily cut-off are on the Shipping Policy page. Tracking is emailed when your order is dispatched.
What is the returns window?
It is set out in full on the Return & Refund Policy page, along with the condition an item has to be in and who pays return shipping.
